THE HISTORY OF GLENVIEW IN A PICTURE

This week we had a very special visitor. Beverley was Glenview's first ever pupil, she is seen here with our youngest student. It was lovely to meet Beverley, hear her story and discover the success that she has made of her life. Thanks for your gift and your kindness Beverley!

Kick the sugar out of Cannons Creek

You may have seen an article on Stuff last year about sugar which featured Glenview School. The folk at AMI were really impressed and gave all our students free drink bottles as we are a water only school.

Alicia, Cheryl, Luisa-Rose and Potiki have been doing some follow up work and have made this video for the council

They will be speaking in a hearing at Porirua City Council to ask that the Council consider the issues relating to the availability of sugar items and sugary drinks at our local shops. They will be asking the Council to take some action.

    Friday Breakfast Club

Whaea Tufaina and Whaea Lynda were invited to attend the first Education Conversation 2018 conference in Christchurch last weekend. This is part of the government’s new project to gather a wide range of voices to inform a new and improved Education System. It is interesting to see that at this first consultation the values that were identified as being most important to shape our education system were hauora/wellbeing and creativity.

You can find out more about how to have your say at: https://conversation.education.govt.nz/

In December we had the privilege of singing to our Prime Minister Whaea Jacinda!

Also in December, the year 5 students went to Kenepuru Hospital to sing christmas carols to the patients, nurses and doctors.
