WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO...
We did lots of fun activities at the end of 2022!
The Year 6s went to our friends at El Rancho for their school camp. They did so many exciting things, like ride horses, water slides, archery and kayaking.
While the Year 6s were at camp, the rest of the Glenview whānau got to go to the zoo!
We ended the year with a perfectly sunny day at Wainuiomata pools.
In November, 2019 the Year 6s went on camp at El Rancho. They tried lots of new things like kayaking, horse riding, archery and did lots of team building challenges. Such a cool experience!
We went to the Zoo!
This week we had a very special visitor. Beverley was Glenview's first ever pupil, she is seen here with our youngest student. It was lovely to meet Beverley, hear her story and discover the success that she has made of her life. Thanks for your gift and your kindness Beverley!
Kick the sugar out of Cannons Creek
You may have seen an article on Stuff a few years ago about sugar which featured Glenview School. The folk at AMI were really impressed and gave all our students free drink bottles as we are a water only school.
Alicia, Cheryl, Luisa-Rose and Potiki have been doing some follow up work and have made this video for the council
They will be speaking in a hearing at Porirua City Council to ask that the Council consider the issues relating to the availability of sugar items and sugary drinks at our local shops. They will be asking the Council to take some action.
Friday Breakfast Club
Whaea Tufaina and Whaea Lynda were invited to attend the first Education Conversation 2018 conference in Christchurch last weekend. This is part of the government’s new project to gather a wide range of voices to inform a new and improved Education System. It is interesting to see that at this first consultation the values that were identified as being most important to shape our education system were hauora/wellbeing and creativity.
