All state schools in New Zealand are legally required to base their teaching on the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC). The NZC is an evolving project with only English and Mathematics in place and further subjects being updated from January 2027 onwards.
The Glenview Local Curriculum lays out how we will deliver the NZC at Glenview, so that we are responsive to our students, our community and our place here in Porirua East.
In addition to the NZC there is the new Expanded Curriculum (EC) which can be used alongside the NZC for students with complex learning needs.
When you attend a Whānau Conference (parent:teacher interview) or receive a written report about your child, teachers will indicate how they are progressing against the NZC, and/or the EC.
